I grew up in a small north eastern town in the 90s. I was lucky enough to experience growing up with the titans of video games influencing the adventures that I had as a kid. That nostalgia has stuck with me as it has with an entire generation.
My wife grew up with two older brothers and no interest in video games. I have spent the last 5 years that we have been together trying to get her to play games. She liked Hogwarts Legacy. She enjoyed Baulders Gate 3. But nothing had addictive staying power.
That's where Fortnite came in. She started playing with a friend of hers and now plays almost daily. Bought a gaming computer to be able to play, and is now looking at other games to play. The joy of the art found her and now our house is filled with the joy that only good games can bring.
We are not here to dismantle a system. We are not proving that something works, even if we have massive goals. The number one MOST IMPORTANT thing for us is that we are making art that can be enjoyed by friends sitting together, in a room together, regardless of skill, age, or interest in games. We want to make fun games and we hope you have fun playing them.
